Model Scale is 1" to 1 foot, giving an overall length of 44" with a Beam of 12 3/4" that is supplied on the beautifully moulded one piece GRP hull which also features the bow and stern deck moulded in. Our model of the "RNLB The Scout" also has double screw propellors and a pair of brass rudders.

This model Lifeboat kit is probably the most comprehensive model lifeboat kit ever offered. Metcalf Mouldings spent many careful hours in developing this attractive model into a superb scale subject. The 44 foot Waveney Class Lifeboat was a development of the US Coastguard 44ft Surf Rescue class of boat, the Waveney Class were introduced into service in the early 1960's as the RNLI's first fast boat. They had a top speed of 15 knots and cruised at 12 knots. Our model is based on archived builders drawings and contemporary photographs of the Hartlepool Lifeboat "RNLB The Scout", she entered service in 1977 and after 20 years service she was sold to ADES the Urugian Lifeboat Service, where she was named "ADES 16" she serves at Puerto del Buceo, Montevideo. There were a total of 22 Waveney's built for the RNLI and with some basic research you could easily build any one of these.

  2. Two fully detailed moulded GRP cabins.
  3. M4 Brass propeller shafts & propellers.
  4. 6 Accurately CNC cut 1.5mm & 2mm styrene sheets for cabin, interior, decks, and cabin frames.
  5. Single printed 0.75mm sheet.
  6. Over 460 cast white metal fittings.
  7. All brass rod, wire, tube, links, nuts & bolts to complete the model.
  8. Dowel for mast, Sampson Posts,
  9. Block wood Resin cast life belt
  10. Brass tube for grab rails.
  11. All grab cord, thread and wire glazing materials etc.
  12. Three full-size keyed and numbered comprehensive general arrangement/construction drawings.
