This is another full model boat kit we have bought in from Metcalf Mouldings, and many careful hours were spent in developing this attractive model into a superb scale subject that is suitable for beginners or experts alike. The "Lady Laura" (now called Forth Challenger) and the "Lady Marina" were built in 1968 for Humber Tugs by Richard Dunston's of Hessle. These two powerful tugs were primarily designed to work on the river Humber and it's estuary, they had of course excellent sea-keeping abilities as well. Our model kit has been produced from the original builders drawings and some contemporary photographs. Lady Marina was sold to Portugal in 1987 and during their working lives the vessels carried several colour schemes, our kit is based on the 1992 colours of "Lady Laura"

The kit has recently been upgraded to include CNC cut sheets for the thicker and larger styrene sheet parts, this will hopefully make construction easier and quicker whilst not retracting from the pleasure of building.

PARTS IN THIS KIT.
  1. White one piece, moulded GRP Hull.
  2. Stainless Steel Propeller shafts & propellers.
  3. Printed 0.5 mm styrene sheets for window frames and sundry details etc.
  4. CNC cut 1.0mm & 1.5mm styrene sheets for deck beams, decks, and main superstructure.
  5. Over 350 accurately cast white metal fittings, for all deck and superstructure elements.
  6. All the required brass rod, wire, tube, nuts & bolts.
  7. Dowel for Samson Post and strip wood to suit other uses.
  8. Vac forming components for the funnel and mast assemblies.
  9. Laser Cut self adhesive lettering for name and port of registration.
  10. A full set of full-sized keyed and numbered General Arrangement Drawings to scale.
  11. A comprehensive and easy to follow illustrated construction manual.
  12. A full Humbrol Paints numbered colour scheme.

All of the above make for a complete scale kit to make the model to Museum Standards, and when fitted with individual motor controls the on the water performance is very realistic, ideal for just pottering around or for Model Regatta work.
